The Towel Drill
Establish deep connection between your arms and torso for a repeatable swing.
The Flaw It Fixes
Disconnection. When your arms out-race your body, or your trail elbow "flies" in the backswing, you rely entirely on timing to square the clubface. This leads to massive inconsistency day-to-day.
How To Do It
- Setup: Take a standard golf towel and place it across your chest, tucking it under both armpits.
- Execution: Take your golf posture and make half-swings (9-to-3 o'clock).
- Goal: The towel should not fall to the ground. Your arms and body must rotate together to keep the towel pinned.
Progression
Start indoors without a ball doing slow motion reps. Progress to hitting foam balls in the backyard, then finally real balls at the range using only wedge half-shots.
